By Wanja Waweru

Detectives in Homa Bay county yesterday recovered one of the four firearms taken from a police post in the county by detectives in Homa Bay yesterday.

The firearm, which was taken from the Kipasi Police Post two weeks ago, was found by the officials from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

They located the gun, which was concealed in a homestead in Abuje village, Nyando sub-county, within Kisumu County, by acting on important leads.

Detectives based in Homa Bay conducted a covert operation that resulted in the recovery of the pistol and the arrest of a suspect connected to the daring burglary event.

Samson Kinne, the commander of Homa Bay County Police, revealed that DCI officers from the county discovered the G-3 gun, which was loaded with 20 rounds of 7.62mm caliber.

“I can confirm that one gun was found. We will give comprehensive briefing on the recovery exercise,” Kinne said.

According to a police report made public yesterday, the night of November 16 saw the mastermind allegedly responsible for the daring attack at the police base in the Kipasi Trading Center in the Mbita Sub-County.
