A couple has been arrested in Nairobi after they were found in possession of Kshs.9 million fake money.
The money was recovered in Gigiri estate and was in US dollars.
It was recovered in a suitcase in a house when DCI officers had gone to arrest a couple over allegations of stealing Kshs.11 million from a foreigner.
Serious Crime Unit DCI officers raided the house following a business woman complaints that she had been conned off her money in yet another suspicious diamond exporting racket.
The police say the foreigner was introduced to the couple by a mutual friend. The mutual friend told the complainant that the couple had established a successful business in exporting of diamond abroad.
The complainant was then asked to invest her money in the business.
