The autopsy report has revealed that the deceased IEBC Embakasi East Returning Officer, Daniel Musyoka, was strangled to death and had serious neck injuries.
The Oloitokitok Sub-County Hospital performed his autopsy on Wednesday, two days after his body was found.
The autopsy report stated that no scars or gunshot wounds were present on his body.
Musyoka was killed for doing the right thing, according to a statement released on Wednesday evening by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, where he was employed at the time of his kidnapping and murder.
“He was a well-trained officer who performed his duty with utmost honesty, integrity and dedication. It is unfortunate that his stand to do the right thing cost his life,” Chebukati eulogized the deceased IEBC staff.
In his statement, Chebukati also urged the pertinent authorities to expedite the inquiry and prosecute those responsible for his murder.
On Thursday, August 11, 2022, the 53-year-old father of two disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
His body was found at the Amboseli National Park in Kajiado South Sub-County four days later.
