Kenya Power says that power supply has been restored in all parts of the country, except for Garissa, Mwingi and Kitui.
According to the company, electricity in those three areas are expected to be back on by 6 pm.
“Work has also commenced reconstructing the collapsed electricity towers,” says Kenya Power.
The firm had earlier explained that the current power outage was a result of collapsed towers on the Kiambere-Embakasi high voltage transmission power line.
The towers collapsed at 10.45 am this morning.
“Our engineers are working to restore electricity supply as the repairs are being undertaken. An update on the restoration progress will be issued in
due course,” Kenya Power had said.
