Raila lets the rabbit out of the hat: I hired ethical hackers to hack IEBC

Raila Odinga, the head of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, has revealed that he collaborated with ethical hackers to elucidate the specifics of his allegedly fabricated triumph in the August 2022 elections.

Raila argues that in order to learn the truth about the presidential tallies declared by the IEBC—which he claims announced different numbers than those that had been recorded on the servers—he had to recruit the technical help of foreign hacking experts.

In an interview with Ramogi TV on Monday, Raila claimed that the government had attempted to halt his hackers’ activities when they first entered the nation with their specialized technology since they had been followed for more than a month.

“We got them from abroad and they came with their machines. They had to go as far as Athi River, some in Kajiado and even Kiambu because they were being tracked for about a month,” he said.

The Presidential election results announced by IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati and validated by the Supreme Court showed that President William Ruto beat Raila with 7.2 million votes against 6.9 million votes. However, Raila claims that this was not the true outcome of the election.

“We won the last election with a margin of 2.2 million. Ruto got 5.9 million while Azimio got 8.1 million. It was evident that Ruto did not win clean from the last general elections,” said Raila.

He continued by saying that the responsibility of looking into the suspected manipulation of the 2022 election results had been given to the IT experts. He added that he decided to keep the report confidential after obtaining the entire account of what happened since he did not want to discuss the situation on his own.

According to Odinga, they agreed to work for a free and fair election as part of their agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta. According to the agreement, none of them were to be involved in manipulating the voting results, and other officials were entrusted with making sure that their rivals didn’t do the same.

“When I was with him, we agreed that the election would not be interfered with in any way because we knew we would win. There were no plans to rig, which is the MOU we signed with Uhuru. He knows what happened, and people may ask why he did not help, yet he was the President. What happened is that there were people who were supposed to do something, and they did not,” he stated.

Raila has maintained he won the August 2022 polls and has called for an audit of the elections
