William Ruto and Raila Odinga both praised the skills of their respective running mates during the Deputy Presidential discussion on Tuesday.

Odinga and Ruto, who are vying to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, said their candidates, Martha Karua and Rigathi Gachagua, respectively, had shown bravery, intelligence, and confidence throughout the discussion.

Odinga said that despite constant provocation, Karua maintained her composure.

Meanwhile, Ruto, the departing Deputy President, alleged that the media was biased. But he didn’t provide any evidence. He added that Gachagua was a seasoned and enthusiastic leader.

In the second part of a lively, 90-minute debate, Gachagua of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) took on Karua, the running mate for the Azimio Coalition.

Kenyans had the chance to evaluate the two contenders on the platform as they disclosed their individual riches and outlined their vision if elected.

Ruth Mutua of the Agano Party and Justina Wamae, the running mate for the Roots Party, participated in the first round of the debate.
