The state has put a temporary halt to the continuing nationwide crackdown on Boda Boda riders.
This is in response to concerns from various political figures about how the government conducted the four-day exercise.
The action comes a day after opposition leader Raila Odinga stated that he had requested that President Uhuru Kenyatta pardon the Boda-boda riders.
“I’ve heard your pleas. I talked to the President and the police will stop harassing the Boda Boda riders,” Odinga remarked.
Deputy President William Ruto and Homabay gubernatorial contender Glady Wanga are among the other officials who have requested a cease-fire in the stalemate.
They contended that only errant riders should be detained and prosecuted, rather than all operators.
