Former Cabinet Secretary George Magoha’s friends, family, and coworkers came on Thursday to pay their respects at the Consolata Shrine in Westlands.

The requiem mass was officiated by the Nairobi Hospital Chaplaincy.

Representatives from the University of Nairobi, doctors, the Ministry of Education, the Ambassador of Mali to Ethiopia, the High Commissioner of Nigeria, and officials from the government are among those attending.

Prior to his burial on Saturday, a requiem mass will be celebrated at his Lavington home later that evening at 5:00 pm by the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.

According to his friend and coworker Walter Mwanda, Magoha had a vision of the day he would pass away.

Before he died, Magoha had requested that his wife phone both his son and daughter-in-law.

Walter also said Magoha collapsed at least four times before he was pronounced dead at the Nairobi Hospital.

Magoha will rest at his home in Umiru, Nyamnina on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
