Royal Media Services (RMS) has let go Joe Ageyo, who was its editorial director for four years, and immediately appointed Linus Kaikai to the position.
The media house made the announcement in an internal memo by Group Managing Director Wachira Waruru on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.
It’s was not immediately clear what caused the sudden exit but insiders point to a boardroom fallout at RMS as general elections campaigns gather pace.
Highly placed sources however intimated that Joe had found himself a bettr job at NTV, the Nation Centre-based station owned by Nation Media Group.
“The impression out there is that Joe was fired. Nothing could be farther from the truth,” a senior manager at Royal Meda Group told ksnmedia.com Thursday on condition of anonymity as he is not authorised to to speak to the media.
Kaikai was the director of strategy and innovations. With Ageyo’s exit, he gets the promotion to become editorial director, the most coveted position is the newsroom.
