In preparation for scheduled demonstrations by supporters of opposition leader Raila Odinga, police have set up roadblocks near State House in Nairobi and the State Lodge in Kisumu.
Near State House Road, State House Avenue, Processional Way, as well as some areas of Dennis Pritt, there were numerous police agents in Nairobi.
All vehicles using the roads are being inspected by heavily armed police officials, who are also questioning drivers. Motorcycles were not permitted to use the roadways, and barricades had already been erected by 6 a.m.
The road going to the State Lodge in Milimani has also been blocked off in Kisumu.
The decision was made as the alleged protests by Mr. Odinga’s supporters loomed big and the end of his 14-day deadline for the government drew closer.
Mr. Odinga declared a change in strategy on Saturday, calling for simultaneous protests to take place all over the nation.
Mr. Odinga stated that Azimio’s leadership was no longer in charge of organizing large-scale demonstrations while he was present for Opiyo Otandi’s funeral.
Kenyans must be mobilized in advance of Mr. Odinga’s major announcement on Thursday, March 9. ODM county leaders have been tasked with doing this.
