President William Ruto has continued to appoint new individuals to a number of boards and state enterprises, even as he works to bring the government into line with his development strategy.

The nominations are also seen as a way for him to thank his allies for their contributions to his election as Kenya’s fifth president

According to the most recent appointments, Jane Lagat has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board, per a Gazette Notice dated February 3.

Beginning on February 3, 2023, she will hold office for three years. Wanjiku Kabira’s appointment has been rescinded.

Samson Mwathethe, a former head of the armed forces, has been named the non-executive chair of the Kenya Forestry Research Institute.

With effect from February 2, he will likewise serve for three years. John Waithaka, whose position has been terminated, will be replaced by him.

The adjustments had an impact on the Coast Development Authority as well.

The position of chair has been given to Mzee Mwinyi Mzee, who will succeed Philip Charo, whose appointment has been annulled. Mzee will take office on February 3 for a three-year term.

Aden Noor Ali has been named by Ruto as the board head of the National Transport and Safety Authority in the same Gazette Notice. He will succeed Agnes Odhiambo, whose appointment has been canceled, for a three-year term.

As members of the State Corporations Advisory Committee, the head of state has also chosen Joseph Kimani Machiri, Claire Sifuna Wanyama, Ahmed Abdi Rashid, Mary Murangi Mugo, Caroline, and Cherono Kilisha. With effect from February 3, they will serve for a term of three years.
