According to Deputy President William Ruto, 30 elected members of Kiambu County Assembly have defected from the ruling Jubilee Party in favor of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Ruto hosted the MCAs, as well as Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndichu, at his Karen house today.

Following their reception, Ruto noted that they conveyed their opinion in the necessity for a new paradigm shift in order to develop Kenya’s economy from the ground up.

“The Kenya Kwanza team is growing bigger each day. 30 elected MCAs from Kiambu County led by County Assembly Speaker Hon Stephen Ndichu have quit Jubilee and joined UDA. They believe that there should be a new paradigm shift to build our economy from the bottom. Karibuni Hustler Nation!” he announced it on his Facebook page.

From the little gathering, Ruto flew to Meru, where he is anticipated to make a number of political stops.

Ruto would first go to Maua town in Igembe South Constituency, then to Kianjai Market in Tigania West Constituency, and finally to Tuskys Area in Imenti North Constituency.

Later, he would visit Nkubu Market in Imenti South Constituency before proceeding to Giampampo Primary School in Mitheru, Maara Constituency.

In the evening, the DP will visit Chuka General Hospital in the Chuka Igambang’ombe Constituency before heading to Kibugua Stadium for a huge gathering.
