It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely demise of Lydia Cheptoo Cherunya, which occurred on 8thJuly 2023 at Sydney – Australia, after a short illness.
Daughter to John Kiptalam Cherunya and Jane Muthoni Cherunya. Sister to the late Kevin, Sharon, Virginia, Sian, Nelly, Myles, Leonah, Eliana and Tiffany. Sister-in-law to John Wasonga.
Granddaughter to the late Kiptalam arap Cherunya, the late Esther Cherunya, the late Mary Kahaki, the late Mary Cherunya and Magdalena Cherunya. Niece to the late Teresa, Michael, Zipporah, James, Eunice, the late Lucy, Sylvia, Martin, Peter, Jane, Grace, the late Daniel, Sam, Charles, Jimmy, Winny, Ruth, Margaret, Kossy, Sharon, Saina, Joseph, Caroline, Julius, Irene, Diana, Mercy and the late Cheptum. Aunty to Ryan, Ray and Jamillah.

The cortege will land in Eldoret Airport on Friday, 28th July, 2023 at 7.00am and proceed to Eldoret Hospital Mortuary for dressing.
Thereafter, the cortege will leave Eldoret Hospital at 9.30am, for St. John The 23 rd Seminary for Mass starting at 10.00am. After the Mass, the procession will leave for her home in Cherunya Farm, Eldoret Town, near Yamumbi Police Station, for an one hour stay at 2.00pm, the cortege leaves for Cherunya Farm, Naiberi for overnight vigil.
The burial service will take place on Saturday 29th July, 2023 from 9.00am. Mass will begin at 12.00 noon.
