Twelve people were killed when an unknown number of armed bandits, staged twin attacks at dawn in Sagante Jardesa ward, in Marsabit County.
According to County Police Commander Robinson Mboloi, the four bandits were among the 12 who were killed in the 5am attack.
Mr. Mboloi told local dailies that rapid response by security personnel enabled the recovery of about 3,500 livestock, that were stolen at Qubi-qallo and Dogogich areas.
The county police boss said the rustlers had managed to steal 1,000 head of cattle and 300 sheep and goats at the Qubi Qallo attack, while at Dogogich they had made away with 800 head of cattle and 1,500 sheep and goats.
Mr. Mboloi called for continued cooperation adding that police is hunting those behind the deadly attack.
