A couple in the US made headlines after getting married despite having a 61-year age difference.
The woman, Miracle Pogue, 24, from Starkville, Mississippi, met Charles Pogue, 85, while she was employed as a launderette worker in 2019.
According to The Daily Mail, despite Charles being a decade older than his wife’s grandfather, the couple is now trying to conceive via IVF to make sure he leaves behind a new generation. Charles doesn’t have any children.

The woman, Miracle Pogue, 24, from Starkville, Mississippi, met Charles Pogue, 85, while she was employed as a launderette worker in 2019.
According to The Daily Mail, despite Charles being a decade older than his wife’s grandfather, the couple is now trying to conceive via IVF to make sure he leaves behind a new generation. Charles doesn’t have any children.
A year after they first met, Charles, a retired real estate agent, revealed his affections for the nurse, and in February 2020, he proposed.
Although Miracle knew Charles was older than her, she felt comfortable around him since they had a “nice vibe” happening.
“I found out in conversation when we asked each other our date of birth and he said he was born in 1937. When I found out I was in too deep, it was a couple of months in and I already had feelings for him. He was my baby and he wasn’t going anywhere,” she said.
Miracle revealed that she at first thought he could be around 60 or 70 because he looked good and was always active.
She said age never bothered her anyway and all she cared about was seeing how their newfound relationship would go.
“I don’t care if he’s 100 or 55, I like him for him. My grandad said if I was happy and it’s what I want to do then he’s happy,” Miracle said.
“My dad was like ‘hell no ma’am, not at all’. It took a lot of time to convince him but I asked him if he wanted to lose his daughter forever.”
Miracle told her father he would lose her forever if he refused to0000urn up for her wedding.
“I told him I needed his support and to walk me down the aisle. Once he got to meet Charles and talk to him, he loved him,” she said.
“Miracle has got a lot going for her. She’s got her life in order, she’s great,” Charles told the Daily Mail.
“There’s no problem with the age difference,” he adds.
The couple got married in July 2022 and they both described their wedding as the best day of their lives.
Charles said they care less about people’s comments online as it makes no difference.
“We just let them do their thing. We’re very happy together. We’re looking forward to starting a family together,” he said.
