After arguing over a customer, two ladies were charged and arraigned in court.
Businesswomen Sarah Hope Luyemba and Vivian Esther Agutu are accused of knowingly participating in a quarrel in a public place.
On September 10, 2022, at midday, along Moi Avenue Street in Nairobi County, they got into a brawl
The two women were at their place of business on the relevant day, the prosecution claims, calling out customers.
When a client entered one of the ladies’ shops, they began to pull the person and eventually got into a brawl.
The trial judge questioned the two to learn their motivations for fighting.
The women said that the difficult economic climate was the reason they were attempting to attract customers.
Muchemi instructed the two to resolve the dispute out of court and show up in front of her on November 5th.
They are free on 5,000 shilling cash bonds for each of them.
