Jill Biden, the First Lady of the United States, is scheduled to land in Kenya on February 23 at 5 o’clock.

First Lady Rachel Ruto said in a statement on Thursday that during her American counterpart’s three-day tour to the nation, she will put more of an emphasis on fostering relations between the two countries, particularly by championing initiatives for women’s economic empowerment like table banking.

Dr. Jill Biden will have the chance to learn about table banking, which is promoted across the nation, according to Rachel.

“Dr Jill Biden is visiting Kenya from Friday, February 24th, to Sunday, 26th February 2023, to strengthen America’s partnerships with Kenya and the African continent, and advance shared priorities between America and Kenya,” read a section of the statement.

“Dr Biden will focus on women’s economic empowerment projects and will visit the joyful women program, where she will get a chance to experience table banking; a transformational economic empowerment model championed by Her Excellency Mama Rachel Ruto, which operates under Mama Doing Good Organization.”

According to First Lady Ruto, so far, 39 out of 47 counties have already adopted the model and the government is working to ensure the remaining 8 counties have the program up and running.
