A shocking video which has been making rounds on social media of a man violently tossing a baby against the wall does not depict real life happenings, it has emerged.
The man in the viral video is seen beating his wife with a brown belt, after which he picks up the crying baby who was lying face up on the floor before throwing him head-first against the wall, and continues to whip the mother.
For some reason, it has been widely alleged that the couple in the video are Kenyans who got into a violent fight after the man accused his wife of infidelity.
However, it has since emerged that the video was an excerpt from the Tanzanian movie ‘Sitamani kuolewa tena’ that was published on January 26.

At around two minutes and forty three seconds, a trailer from the Tanzanian movie clearly shows the scene from where the viral video was extracted.
The couple in the movie are initially seen arguing over their marital differences. They end up in a physical fight.
The clip from the Tanzanian movie had been erroneusly linked to a twenty three-year-old Murangá man who allegedly murdered his four-month-old son.
The suspect, Mark Njuguna reportedly got into a fight with his wife Mary Muthoni Tuesday, January 25.
During the altercation with his wife, Njuguna reportedly grabbed and violently smashed the child’s forehead on the concrete floor.
The infant, who the suspect claims is not his biological son, died immediately, after landing on the concrete floor head-first.
The four month-old infant’s body is currently lying at General Kago Mortuary in Thika pending post-mortem.
