Sabrina Dhowre Elba, Idris Elba’s lovely wife, appears to be enjoying a wonderful time in Kenya.

Locals welcomed Sabrina, who is in the nation for a field visit with farmers in Embu County, with songs and dance before serenading her with the popular Firirinda dance.

Sabrina, the Goodwill Ambassador for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), was beaming as she expressed her gratitude to her hosts.

In April 2020, Sabrina Dhowre Elba was named UN Goodwill Ambassador for IFAD, and she indicated that she will be meeting with farmers in Embu County to discuss climate change and how it impacts them.

Sabrina, who describes Kenya as her second home, stated recently that the negative effects of climate change on farmers should be addressed so that farmers do not face serious implications.

“We spent the day on the field with primary in beautiful Kenya which is my second home. It’s been really enlightening to see what I have always believed in that the rural community in nations and in continents like Africa work really hard if not harder than everywhere else,” she said.

She went on to say that she had already had a talk with farmers about how to safeguard crops from climate change.

“Myself as a Canadian I see the effects of the effect climate change but am hearing from the farmers here how they wield their crops and I hope the government will also have a say in that.”

Sabrina’s fondness for Kenya is well known, as she has visited the country previously. She visited Kenya for the first time in 2021, spending time with her kin in Kilifi.
